Racquel Hubbs Hawley

Racquel Hawley is a dedicated and experienced trial attorney. She is passionate about serving her clients and is aggressive and zealous in the courtroom. Racquel assists clients who have been seriously injured in Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She represents criminal clients in Kentucky and Tennessee and military members in criminal or administrative actions worldwide.

After graduating from law school in 2013, Racquel commissioned in the United States Air Force as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. She served until 2019, having been selected for the rank of Major. During her time in the JAG Corps, Racquel earned a reputation as one of the Air Force’s best litigators. In her first assignment at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, she litigated numerous felony-level courts-martial and oversaw the federal magistrate court program, prosecuting cases as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. She was also responsible for handling civil legal issues for the base and represented the Air Force at mediation in a million-dollar lawsuit.

Racquel was competitively selected for assignment as the Area Defense Counsel at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, where she was responsible for providing full spectrum legal defense services to an installation of over 8,000 active duty personnel and representing active duty clients in criminal trials throughout the central United States. Racquel represented hundreds of Air Force members facing criminal charges and administrative proceedings. She has represented clients accused of rape, sexual assault, aggravated assault, fraud, theft, drug offenses, and numerous other charges. Racquel was ranked #1 litigator in her region by the Air Force.

Because of her exceptional performance defending Air Force members, Racquel was promoted to the role of senior prosecutor, or Senior Trial Counsel. She served as one of the Air Force’s elite prosecutors, responsible for handling the most complex, high-profile criminal cases across the country and worldwide. She has prosecuted a wide range of serious offenses ranging from computer crimes to capital murder. She served as adjunct faculty at beginner and intermediate litigation courses and provided training to Air Force Prosecutors across the country.

Licenses and Education:

Racquel graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville in 2009. She went on to attend law school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated cum laude and received the Kline & Specter Trial Advocacy Award. In law school, Racquel received awards for her work competing nationally in both moot court and trial team. In 2012, she earned a national championship trophy at the Fordham University School of Law Invitational Trial Competition held at the SDNY Federal Courthouse in New York City and was selected “Best Advocate” for her performance. She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Courts of Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
